Because I don't have enough stuff to do!

Like I don't have enough stuff to do, I joined the Japanese Literature Challenge. About a month or so ago, I read a book titled "Asleep" by Banana Yoshimoto. It was a collection of short stories, three to be exact and I LOVED it. It was one of those books that automatically went into my "keeper" pile that I will read again. The last book of short stories I read, also went into this pile. The Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri. If you have not read it, get and read it NOW, you can thank me later.

So, I promptly went to Paperback Swap and ordered ALL of Banana's books. Then I started looking at other Japanese authors. Hmm, a genre of books I have not delved into!! And then I saw the Challenge. Ok, it's only THREE books by January 2009. I can do this!!! Now I need to chose my three.......which three??? There are some great novels listed on the challenge site!

Hey girl, sounds like fun, dont know if you know him, but my favorite Japanese writer is Haruki Murakami, he is a bit nuts, not so much like christopher Moore nuts, more like deep crazy, I worry about him, smart kind of nuts...its like he writes in a different world that was put together by different ways, not like ours at all...have a great holiday weekend...
