Cowls Are The New Scarf

So, according to Ravelry and judging by the buzz on the street, this Fall's new scarf is the cowl, and I say sign me up!!! I love scarfs, and basically any neck accessory. And thus, the obsession starts!

Recently I knit three and I think these are going to be my "go to" presents for the Fall/Winter and Spring. After all, I have tons (and I mean TONS) of yarn in my stash.

Without further ado, I give you my cowls. And like all things, they are with commentary!!! :)

The Chickadee Cowl
Pattern: The Chickadee Cowl by Kirsten Kapur
Yarn: Lorna's Laces Swirl Chunky in Bittersweet
Comments : I LOVE this! The stitch pattern was so fun to work.
And besides, it is obnoxiously bright! I have a skein of the worsted weight
in the same color way that I will make some matching mitts.

The Luxe Neckwarmer
Pattern: The Luxe Neckwarmer by Mel Clark
Yarn: Sublime Worsted (I forget the colorway,
but it reminds me of black raspberry ice cream!)
Comments: I love this one too! Simple feather and fan lace and
very quick to knit. Would make a great gift! And the yarn was to die for!!

The "Monkey" Cowl
Pattern: The Monkey Cowl from Ravelry (Based on the Monkey Socks by Cookie A.)
Yarn: STR Lightweight in Downpour
Comments: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!! It is a tad large, but very snuggly. I
have had this yarn for so long, planning on making socks with it (yah right!) and
decided it would be perfect! I see MANY more of these in my future!
In fact, another is on the needles right now!

This is beautiful. I'm inspired-I'm always looking for ways to use beautiful sock yarns for something other than socks.
