Sorry for the weird song reference. Does anyone remember this??? (Was that really in 1978?? Wow!!) I couldn't help but sing this song!! Ha!! Well, I'm back from my trip to Philly. We had a great time! It was just a whole lotta archeology and a whole lotta rest!! I am VERY happy I saw the King Tut Exhibit! I spent my whole life looking at the treasures from a book, and now I got to stand in front of them in person! I was one happy camper! There was no photography allowed as I said before, and you know what?? It was a good thing. It was crowded and the lighting was not conducive to great photos. (You can hop over to the "official" website and see the professionals!) It was kind of like getting a good picture of the Mona Lisa! Small object, big crowd and glass. Just to prove I was there, I took a picture of the outside of the museum!
We also went to the Penn Archeology Museum!
I was very impressed with the collection. They had some AMAZING artifacts. Although it would have been nice to have a little air conditioning as it was hot and humid outside as well as in! But for an $8 admission price, it was more the worth the heat! I took a few pictures inside:
I feel very inspired this week and hope to get into the studio to make some new jewelry! Not to mention, while I was gone I got a treasure trove of new beads! Look for new things soon! More tomorrow!
