This is a public service announcement. Please remove your Christmas wreaths from your doors!! It is FEBRUARY, and the end of February at that!!!! As I was driving around town this week, I noticed lots of people still had wreaths with big Christmas ribbons on their doors including one on my street. Christmas is OVER, please remove them. They are brown and nasty. Thank you.
My friend from college used to complain about this very thing. She was a city girl from Boston and apparently, everyone there removed their decoration promptly after new year. As we would be driving around hanging out and having fun, she would rant and rave about "suburbia" and what could be wrong with us that we would leave a dried up nasty wreath on our door. Was this welcoming?? My other friend and I would make sure we cruised all the neighborhoods that we KNEW still had the wreaths on the doors, just to get her going. Well, she really had a point.
If your wreath is on your door, still with a ribbon that says Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays, or is dried up, go take it down. The holidays are long gone, or are you just early for next year????
